Clermont, Florida is in Lake County and depending on where in (the oddly shaped) city you live, you can be either 15 minutes or 45 minutes from the Magic. Although technically a city, there are parts of Clermont that are very rural. Rolling hills, which are very rare in typically flat Florida, can be enjoyed by a ride up Rt 27. It’s nice to see hills and valleys filled with vegetation and sometimes cows.
Clermont is home to the Citrus Tower which celebrated it’s 60th anniversary in 2016. Originally build to look over the orange trees, it’s become a centerpiece of the city. It can’t be missed standing over 226 feet and with a bright orange strip down each of it’s four sides.
There is a small downtown section that is quite charming. Definitely feels like Old Florida.
You can find every big box and chain store very easily in Clermont, as well as every chain restaurant and even some smaller privately owned stores and eateries. There are quaint neighborhoods and booming apartment complexes and everything in between. The location is convenient not only to Walt Disney World but also to Orlando via 192 and 50.
I live in Clermont and can make it home from the “See you real soon” sign in less than 15 minutes. Nice after walking countless miles and eating countless Mickey shaped snacks throughout the day!
