Review: Yak & Yeti-Animal Kingdom

Yak & Yeti is a sit down restaurant located in Animal Kingdom. They serve American and Asian dishes. This is definitely not a place where you will leave hungry. While here I got the Chicken Lo Mien and the other person in my party got the sweet and sour chicken. Both servings were perfectly sized. The Sweet and Sour Chicken plate was not as hot as preferred but still tasted excellent. The Chicken Lo Mien was delicious. The noodles were cooked to perfection, chicken had a little kick to it, and vegetables had a great crunch to them. The prices were not outrageous especially with the amount of food that was given.

The ambiance here matches what you would expect from Disney. The home-turned-restaurant is decorated in artifacts from trips to South Africa and nothing is too match-match making you feel like you are eating at a friend’s house. They do not mind if you get up during your meal to take pictures. The service was excellent, servers are more than happy to suggests their favorite dishes so don’t be afraid to ask.

The best item on the menu is their Fried Wontons. At first I was weary about ordering this since I am not a huge wonton fan but my server said it was the best thing in the restaurant and he was right! This is a dessert dish that is just amazing. Cheese stuffed wontons are put on skewers with some grilled pineapples and vanilla honey sauce is generously put all over the plate. Cut up strawberries add some color to the dish and a scoop of vanilla ice cream just sends it over the top. You must leave room for this dessert. Enjoy!!
